The Indianapolis campus of Indiana University (IUPUI) reached out to People for Urban Progress  (PUP) to find a use for a superlative resource. Redwood planks were used as the cladding for parking garages on campus for decades but was needed to be replaced.

PUP studied the materials, surveyed the campus, and observed/interviewed students to determine that the most impactful reuse of this material was campus furniture. 

 

We designed, fabricated, and installed a series of benches and tables over the course of 2018/2019 with the intention to eventually install sculptural platforms.
